BWI rooms & tipping

After reading other threads about bwi rooms, which rooms should I request? There will only be DD (24) and myself. A quiet room not overlooking the boardwalk is very important as I am a very light sleeper. How is the walk from the elevators to some rooms? We are both very fit people, so the walk is not really that important if the rooms are quiet. We are experienced dw travellers (many trips in the last 15 years, but have never stayed at the Epcot resorts. We always stay at the Poly. Also, what do you tip the valets when they take your luggage from the towncars while you check in? I never know if I am giving them the right amount!

hi: can't help you out with the room questions because i stay on the villas side. the hallways can seem very long at the end of the evening. you can always use the stairs to cut down on the amount of walking. we will use the stairs(especially when leaving the villa) to minimize the walk if we are down near the end of the hall. have the fact that you are requesting a quiet room put right on your ressie. with the balcony doors closed, there is only a minimal amount of noise coming into the rooms. we've had rooms overlooking the themed pool, the quiet pool by community hall, the canals and down near atlantic dance. with the doors closed, there wasn't any noise that bothered us other than an argumentative neighbor that could be heard. you will love being able to walk to epcot and mgm-it's much faster than waiting for the launches.

Tipping.... we usually tip $1 per bag, sometimes more if really heavy or valet is helpful and friendly.
