BWI room thoughts...

Having read the BWI FAQ thread, which, between you and me, is getting to be a bit threadbare (sorry), this question is for anyone who has done the Boardwalk Inn.

I want a water view room that overlooks the Boardwalk itself. If it has to be concierge, that's fine, I'll suffer. I know most of the concierge rooms are located above the bakery or thereabouts, but where are the standard water view rooms in relation? A view of Illuminations is not essential, though I wouldn't close my eyes to it.

I know this is getting to be tacky, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like this information. Anyone who has a room and floor number, and a short description of their view would be very helpful.

There are some standard rooms that overlook the Boardwalk (I assume), but I can only tell you about the Concierge Deluxe room. Ours was right above the bakery and almost 700 square feet. The extra space is a sitting room. The room is beautiful, as is the view. All of the Concierge Deluxe rooms have a view of the Boardwalk; I believe that standard concierge rooms have variable views and a Boardwalk view cannot be guaranteed. You'll love this wonderful resort!

We stayed in room 5269 "boardwalk view". Our room was over the Bellvue Lounge and looked over half the BW and the courtyard just off the BW. At first we were disappointed it wasn't a direct view but we came to love our location. It was a tad quieter but still plenty of action to see and hear from our balcony, it faced the afternoon sun which was nice when our temps never got above 72 degrees, and it was very close to the elevators. I thought I read somewhere that all the even number rooms were standard and odds were water or boardwalk view. But not sure on that.

It is a lovely resort indeed. We just rebooked for our next trip there and asked for "a non-smoking standard, upper floor, Epcot view room". Just couldn't justify the extra $ in peak season.

Good luck.

If you want a BW view with a water view as well, you will not be able to see Illuminations. Yes, all the Deluxe rooms have a BW view. The Steeplechase Suite has a BW view also. You can also see the fireworks from the concierge lounge.

I have been in a couple of standard rooms that had a lovely garden view and we could see the fireworks as well. We also booked a regular water view room that sounds like like it was in the same area as vicb.

I think the only "bad view" at the BWI is a parking lot view, but one poster who got this view (for a standard view) asked to be moved and got a very nice view in exchange.
