BWI Price Protected December Trip - Better/Other Resort Options????

Looking for opinions on resorts other than BWI. After reading about the slow/quiet atmosphere around the Boardwalk I am thinking of changing resorts for our December trip. It’s just DH and I and I prefer a resort with access to good restaurants and lounges that don’t close early.
We have stayed only at BWI for past trips - any opinions on a different resort for us? We are price protected so any deluxe would work (pending availability)

Contemporary has the most options open right now and it's where a lot of folks from other unopened deluxes are being moved to because it has availability. We ate at Cali Grill on July 25th and the food, service, wine, and atmosphere were all as good as I remembered from prior trips. They also have a non-character breakfast at Chef Mickey's, The Wave is open for all 3 meals, The Wave bar is open, the Pool bar is open, and you can monorail to Poly and GF for a few additional options (although you may have to Lyft/Uber back because the monorail only runs an hour past MK closing).
