Hi eveyone!
Im new here but i have always loved WDW!! NOw my ? is...have any of you ever stayed at the BW or GF? We normally stay at the BC and love it, but our next trip will be in 2005 and itll be my last one for a while....(im going to college in 2006!!), so i think i wanna try soemthing different. My mom wants to stay at the GF, and i think it would be nice to be on the monerail, but i like the EPCOT side better and i think it would be fun to stay at the BW. We are planning to maybe go the first week in Dec so the decorations will be up. Has anyone stayed at both or have a preferance? Thanks for the help!! ::MinnieMo

We stayed at GF some years ago and just recently stayed at the BW. They are both beautiful resorts and you can't go wrong with either one but for us I think the BW is better for our needs. We like having the boardwalk right there with all the restaurants and shops. If you think you will be spending more time in Epcot over the MK, then I would consider BW, if you think you will be in the MK more, then the GF will be more convienient. Either way always ask for rooms that have been refurbished. Good Luck!!!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I think you can't go wrong with either, so it depends whether you want to be on the boardwalk or the monorail. A few points.

GF standard rooms are bigger. GF grounds are more expansive if you like to walk around your resort, and it has 3 water options -- two pools and a "beach." BWI can have some pretty stinky views if that's important to you. You can avoid this by getting water view, but note that doesn't necessarily mean the lake. More restaurants and things to do in the immediate BWI vacinity. BWI is less expensive, generally speaking. BWI can be a little noisy. Better transportation options from the GF.

I am very fortunate having stayed at both resorts on my last WDW trip, 7 nights at GF and 10 nights at BWI!! And you have a tough choice, love them both. The GF surprised us, we really loved it and we are diehard BW fans. The pool areas, Mouseboat accessability, restaurants, even the Gasparillas food court was great. It was so relaxing, we hardly left the resort to do anything!! And while we were there we took full advantage of the spa. We moved to the BWI from GF, and of course, loved it as always. It is also a beautiful resort, so close to Epcot and MGM, great pools and the choices of dining almost infinite from here. Although the Flying Fish here is our favorite restaurant on property. How many days will you be there? Maybe a split stay would work.::MinnieMo

I'm with minster22 - I'd look into splitting my stay between the 2.

I dont think you can go wrong with either one. For me I like the BW, close to epcot, my favorite park, have all the eating places. I don't have small kids so for me the epcot resorts are better for me. whatecer you choose you can not go wrong, have a FUNtastic trip :D

I've stayed at both. I think the service is MUCH better at the BWI. I think they have the nicest decorations, and the location is the best at WDW.

If it is just the 2 of you I would seriously consider splitting between the two! Then you can give us a report on BOTH!:p

It would be nice to experience the differences. Good luck.

I completely agree with Ducklite. I've stayed at the GF 8 times and the BWI 2 times in the last 7 years. We much prefer the BWI, not only for location and appearance, but mostly for service! The area is beautiful and the CMs are amazing. We'll never return to the GF.

My vote goes to the Grand Floridian. I know many like the BW Inn, but our trip there was so miserable I don't see us returning anytime soon.

We have never had a bad stay at the Grand. I love the option of an 24 hour quick food service at the Grand.

The decorations are beautiful at both, but I love the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian.

Maybe a split stay as others suggested.

I have stayed at both and have enjoyed both. Considering that it will be Christmas time, I'd go with the GF.
