Are the Boardwalk Inn rooms and the Boardwalk Villa Studio rooms basically the same? I realize that the studio would include a microwave in addition to a fridge as well as sofa/bed instead of two beds. Are the units roughly the same size? Are the furnishings/decor better in one than the other? Any other differences? TIA

The studio rooms have a kitchenette with a fridge, micro, coffee maker, toaster, and dishes. You are correct that there would be one bed and a sofa bed. The decor is different. There are pics here on the Dis for you to compare.

The decor is way different. The decor at BWV is more like granny's beach house at Coney Island. BWI is a bit more sedate and refined.

If I had a choice between BWV studio and BWI hotel room, I'd take BWI. It has two real beds and probably a day bed. BWV studio will have one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa. But if it was a BWV one bedroom versus a BWI hotel room, I'd go with the one bedroom.
