Because of flooding, we were bumped from our villa at the bwv to 2 rooms at bwi concierge. We have done poly and AKL concierge, and the bwi concierge compared very favorably. The staff was excellent, especially in the evening, they were doting over us. Food offerings were very nice, lounge was lovely, with epcot, fireworks view from balcony. I read alot about concierge stays on this board, but not too much about bwi concierge. Just wanted to let you all know, I thought it was extremely nice.;)

I've stayed at the BWI concierge before, and it is nice.

But I don't think it compares to a villa...you lose the washer and dryer (MAJOR luggage/time saver), the ability to have your coffee in your room in the morning before you are ready to face the world (this is HUGE for me!), the vcr in the room, the actual living room, the soaking tub in the master dressing room...these are all amenities for which we bought in to DVC to begin with...I'm suprised they didn't move you to a villa at the BCV, which would have been an acceptable alternative for me. (OKW/VWL would NOT) Otherwise I think I'd be looking for a rebate of some points.

Glad to hear the BWI concierge was great. I'm looking forward to trying it out on my honeymoon. :)

Hi Anne,
I agree with your comments, and it only was acceptable to us because we were only staying one night. We weren't planning on using the kitchen so that didn't matter. My husband gets pretty cranky if he gets jerked around too much, and I new if we had to drive over to another resort he would have been PO'd. As long as they were giving us 2 rooms in the concierge,(that were ready) so he could watch his football game in one, and DD could do her game cube in the other, he was happy. But I was surprised they handled it that way as well.:D

Gotcha--in those circumstances it would have been fine :)

Thank-You for this!!! :)

We are staying at BWI Concierge early next year and I have been searching for reviews, but there didn't seem to be many positive ones.

Thanks Again!

do remember what room(s) you were in? I am trying to figure out what the ask for in my room request when I make my ressie and I can't quite figure out this resort. Any help would be great-thanks!

We stayed at BWI concierge in November, and loved it. Comfortable room, BIG balcony (overlooking the Boardwalk and the lake, right over the Flying Fish) and easy access to everything. LOVED getting up in the morning and going for a stroll around the lake, warming my hands on my coffee cup
:)

The lounge is very nice, very comfy, but if you stay more than a few days -- we were there for 10 -- the food offerings become repetitious and a tad dull. But the service was sublime.

And we LOVED being so close to EPCOT and MGM.

A word of caution: many rooms overlook the B'walk (as ours did) and it can get - ahem - lively. Especially around, say, 10:30 or so, when you're staring to poop out, and the excitement outside is just starting to crank up. There was a small oom-pah band playing outside our window almost every night until about 10:30, and THAT got to be a bit annoying. If you don't mind it, great. if you do, ask for a room that's NOT facing the lake!!

:)

Greg-
Thanks for the info! We probably wouldn't mind being in that location since DH is hearing impaired and DS sleeps like a log-lol! Do you know what room number you were in?

We are staying the first 4 nights at AKL concierge and then moving over to BWI concierge after the marathon weekend so hopefully we'll get a taste of them both.
Thanks again for your help!

Unfortunately, I don't remember the room number ... but it was sort of on the corner, with a big balcony, right on top of the Flying Fish.

Sorry :(

But it was a great spot otherwise -- convenient to the elevators, and the front entrance, and the concierge lounge.

Thanks again for your help!

I'll be making my ressies in the next few days so I'm trying to ask for the important things at that point in time.

I might ask for a corner room in that area and see what happens :)
