Ok - what is everyone's favorite - I may base my resort decision on it! :goodvibes There are 4 of us me, DH, DS16, and DD12. DS loves DTD. We have only been to the BW once since it wasn't very convenient from POFQ. I'm looking for all input. Thanks.

Well, I like them both.....for different reasons! I love the relaxing atmosphere of the BW...love to get bfast-to-go from the bakery and sit by the lake to eat and watch the Friendship boats go by. What a great view over to YC/BC and Swan/Dolphin! Love to go for long walks alllllll the way around the lake....especially at night when it's all lit up. Very pretty.

I love DTD for all the shopping! Love the Lego sculptures, giant kalaidescope (?sp), and Ghiradelli's! I find the atmosphere at DTD more fast-paced with loads more people, its a more "frenetic" pace!

I really like both of them!

Boy that's a tough one. I love DT Disney so much more than the BW personally but love the resorts near the BW better (Beach Club particularly) as they are closer to Epcot & MGM (my favorites). I guess that doesn't help make your decision any easier huh?! If it helps, I did stay at POR recently which is a boat ride away from DTD and it was beautiful and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again...

Maybe it would help if you said what it was your son loved about DTD. I love the boardwalk, but there are a lot of things at DTD that aren't at the BW. That being said, it's definitely worth it to spend some time there. One thing to consider is that it's fairly easy to get to DTD from any resort (granted the boat from POR is nice, but there's always a bus). It's definitely easier to get to the BW from one of the Epcot resorts, where you don't have to worry about transfers. As to which is better, I can't pick! -Meg

Athough DTD has way more to see and do, BW probably has the edge for us simply because it has one of our favorite non-park places in all of WDW- Jellyrolls! We usually visit there at least a couple of times per visit.

Having grown up with the REAL NJ Boardwalks, I find nothing about the WDW Boardwalk that would draw me back. It is a nice hotel with some eateries there, but it's not a real boardwalk. DTD has way more to do, see, eat, shop etc. and am sure they may want to hit Disneyquest too.

Definitely DTD for us. One of the reasons we love staying at SSR is being able to walk to DTD every night. All the dining options, DisneyQuest, drinks at the House of Blues outside seating area with live music, the shopping... :goodvibes

Ok - thanks to everyone who as responded. :goodvibes I still haven't made up my mind. DS16, likes the bands that play on stage in DTD in the evening. He also loves sports (ESPN Club). So I guess I'll have to keep thinking - we don't go until August!!!

If you're just trying to decide between spending a free afternoon at DTD or at the BW, then I'd probably say DTD since there's more to see and do there.

However, if you're trying to decide where to stay (close to DTD or BW) then I'd say BW! Any of the BW hotels (Swan/Dolphin, YC/BC, BWI, BCV, BWV) are wonderful to stay at compared to the DTD resorts. When staying at a BW resort you have EASY access to not only the BW, but to Epcot and MGM and even miniature golf.

The close proximity and easy access to the two parks and to the BW itself is why the BW resorts are quickly becoming our favorites. My 2.5 yr old loves to stroll over and watch Illuminations at Epcot every evening and being so close makes it very easy to take her over there. DH and I LOVE RnRC and TOT at MGM so we can take a quick trip over there and ride those rides a few times right before closing as well. It's just really convenient staying over there.

Have a great trip!
