BW view

Our first trip "home" is in 20 days It will be just my husband and I for this trip. We have a Boardwalk view 1 bedroom booked and like every one else I have a question about room locations We have never stayed at BW before so any suggestions would be great!!! Are higher floors better? Is there an area that we can people watch, but will not be woken up at 3am when the bars close. In short, what have been your favorite BW view rooms & why

Rooms farthest from the elevators have the best view of Illuminations, though every BW view room has some view of the fireworks. Lower floors have a higher risk of noise from people on the BW. Rooms closer to the elevator are also closest to the games, which will have some noise until about 10:00 p.m. or so, depending on the season. Many second floor rooms have a solid wall balcony which will offer more privacy but will also require you to stand to see anything below. These balconies are also significantly larger than most of the others. Because there are not many BW view rooms to begin with, you may have very little in the way of choice, especially if the resort is full (which seems to be the case most of the time). In any event, enjoy your trip. We absolutely adore BW view and book it every time we go there (can't wait for our Jan. and March trips!)

I always request top floor and in my 4 times in a BW view I have received
5, 2, 4 & 4. The time on 2 was above the Big River Grill and it was definitely more noisy than the others (it was a 1 bedroom).

Regardless, the view is awesome!

Thank you so much. I think I'll request the highest floor they have avilable the day we check in and hope for the best.....I figure even the worst room will still be better than being at home

I love the photos thank you so much! We booked BW and decided since it would be our first time with DVC we would go all out with a 1 bedroom BW view......then I started reading and started to second guess myself as so many people talked about the noise of the BW I expect some noise, but 3am revelers would not be good.
As I said in my previous post, at this point we will just hope for the best and enjoy our time together . I am back to being very excited and will post a review of whatever room we end up with.

If you are a light sleeper and end up on a lower floor, keep the balcony doors and drapes closed when you go to sleep. I, on the other hand, often sleep on the sofabed with the sheers open so that I can fall asleep while looking at illuminated Spaceship Earth. I also like to get up early, before DH, and sit on the balcony with my coffee (maybe even a decadent treat from the BW bakery, which opens early) and watch the BW come to life. I am making myself homesick. Have a marvelous time!

What time does the bakery open? Does it have "real" coffee? DH is up most days around 5 and likes to go for a walk and explore a bit before the crowds hit.....it would be great if I could talk him into picking up a treat fror me after he is done with his exploration, cause the only thing i like to explore that early is the inside of my eyelids

The bakery was open by 6:30 when we were last there, but I think the hours may change, so best to check it out when you are there. I can't speak for the coffee because I always bring my own designer coffee. I HATE that Nescafe cr-- that WDW calls "coffee." The Belle Vue Lounge (which is over the Flying Fish on the BW Inn side) also has coffee and rolls in the morning if you don't want to venture outside. I have not tried their rolls but others have said they are good.
