BW View Waitlist Frustration

I made my Dec reservations at the 11 month mark and there were no BW views avail for a two bedroom...so took other preferred view and asked to be waitlisted for BW view. Never heard anything so I called yesterday just to check on it since the 7 month window is now open...and come to find out they said I was NOT on a waitlist for BW view!!!!

Not happy about it and wonder if now anything will come up...of course since we weren't on a waitlist there isn't anything I can do about it now. Anyone else ever encounter this? I didn't think I should have to check up on it and actually felt a little bad about calling to check but now glad I did.

So sorry to hear about this.....did you go on the waitlist for BW view?

When you reserved for December, did you do it day by day or in one call at the end of the 11mo window?

Have you stayed at BWV in a pool/garden view before?

thanks

Hi,

Sorry about the mix-up! But, I did want to tell you to hang in there! We recently called at the 7 month window for an OKW GV and we had to waitlist for the whole time (I did it day by day).

I was happy when the first few days came through quickly, but in a panic because one of the days (right in the middle) didn't! After posting for advice (should I change to another resort, etc!) we were happily surprised when the day came through!

So, as everyone told me- be patient! The waitlist DOES work!

Have a great trip!

Wow. Very sorry to hear you were not placed on the waitlist like you asked. That has not happened to me, but I was kept on the waitlist after I had asked to be removed. The room became available and they automatically booked me (borrowing points and all!).

Thankfully it was easy to fix.

I am also very surprised to hear you were not able to get the BW view at 11 months:confused:

the Member Services person said she now has me on the waitlist. I waited and booked 11 months before our checkout day. I had heard of people doing it day by day but with it being the beginning of Dec and two years ago had no problem booking preferred view (although then you had to cross your fingers to get a BW view) I didn't go day by day.

I feel a bit hopeful after seeing stories where people get what they wanted after being waitlisted. never had a pool view but I heard some preferred views you can see TOT so I guess thats not all bad.

Had a great view from #5095 - overlooked community quiet pool, the canal and a superb view of TOT

It was equal IMO to our boardwalk view from #5047

Good luck!

As you now realize, you need to book day by day for early December to get either a standard view or a Boardwalk view. There just aren't that many rooms that meet your criteria and there are lots of us who travel during that time of the year. I booked day by day to get a 2 bedroom Boardwalk view.

IMHO, there won't be many who have a BW view that will shift out of that time frame to another resort, so I don't think your waitlist will come through - but I hope it does.

For this year, my advice is to call MS and add a request for a room overlooking the Village Green. This is the area between the lobby and the Boardwalk (rooms above the Wyland Gallery). The views from this area are nearly the same as the Boardwalk and are considered Preferred - Pool/Garden.

Best wishes -
