BW View Studio

We are staying in BW view studio for the first time. Is there a certain area or section I should request or because I am BW view I should just take my chances? I am so excited to stay here in 33 days!

Generally speaking, higher floors farther down have better views of fireworks, but are the least convienent. Lower floors closer to the elevator are far more convienent, but the building blocks more of the view of Illuminations.

If you don't like stairs and long hallways, go for convienence.

(And I've never had a location request met a BWVs. I have had some well located rooms, but never even close to what we've asked for).

I would prefer better view of illuminations but I think I will just wing it and take what I get.

Be aware that all the studios between the main entrance to the general store (right at the edge where the boardwalk meets the Village Green) on down to just about the start of the Big River Grill are dedicated studios. All 2BR lock-offs (which can be 1BR or studio) run from the start of Big River Grill to just before Jellyrolls begins. It is the dedicated studios that are closer to the elevator. Thus if you want to assure getting a studio that is further down for better Illuminations view you can ask for a lock-off studio and if you want one closer to the Village Green and elevator you can ask for a dedicated. The real risk you want to avoid is getting a first floor room which is at the same level as the boardwalk. Those are only between Big River and Jellyrolls (and were the show rooms when they had the full DVC store there) and there are only a few rooms at that level but requesting upper floor may avoid those.

Hi Neighbor.

Whenever we have been in a BW view studio, we have always requested a high floor. It is nice to sit out on the balcony and view the activity. Now, it doesn't always work out that way but we have never had a bad room location. Enjoy your stay.

I also always request top floor. It is quieter and the views are better. Unless you have a disability, the distance to the elevator is exaggerated.

we stayed in a 2-bedroom last month - so we had a 1-bedroom (5011) and an adjoining studio (5013). We requested "as high as possible" - that was our only request and we got 5th floor. Not only the best views in the house, but it's nice not to have any traffic (read that, noise!) from up above you! Here's a link to our views and shots around the BW.
