This will be my first foray into the ultra busy early-December vacation period. With my 11-month window approaching, should I walk my reservation if I want a Boardwalk view two-bedroom villa?

I know there was an early December availability thread last year, but I couldn't find it on Google.

Any early December vets have any thoughts about what I should do? Thanks!

Just to share - we checked in on the 9th this year and I did not walk our 2BR boardwalk view reservation. We've also done 1BR's during the first week and not walked although that's a little different than the 2BR because of the need for the studio section.

Thanks Kathy, good to hear that the reservation may be doable straight up.

You shouldn't have to walk as long as you will be booking online at 8 am Eastern on the say your window opens.

We're DVC rookies (just passed ROFR last week) and planning on an early Dec 2014 trip. What is meant by "walking" a reservation? Thanks

Congrats on passing ROFR! Walking a reservation means starting your reservation days before and calling MS each day to drop one day off the front and add a day to the end of the reservation until you have the reservation you want.

Got it! Thanks. Is this a common practice?

It can also be a strategy for HA BW view rooms since there is only one of these. It is a 2 bedroom lock-off, so if someone books a 2 bedroom HA BW view room then there are zero HA BW view studios and zero HA BW view 1 bedrooms to book. Very few people are eager to book HA rooms but those of us who need them do have an issue.
