BW rehab update/ trip report

Have reservations on 11/13, just checking to see if anyone has any new reports or pics yet. Anxious to see what will be done .

The boardwalk wing of the villas is blocked off on all floors and there's scaffolding on the outside at various points surrounding those rooms. It's going to remain that way for at least a few more weeks.

For Nov 13? If you have BW View booked, then very strong chance (95%) you’ll get a refurbed room. The other views would be closer to 50/50 chance.

This is a map from touringplans showing Boardwalk resort. The greyed out part is BW Inn (cash guests; hotel).

The left side is DVC villas. The top red section holds ALL the Boardwalk View rooms, plus some standard and garden/pool views. That is currently closed off for the refurb. The bottom half is open and only contains standard and garden/pool view rooms.

After the top half completes refurb (sometime in Nov or possibly Dec?) there is likely to be a small break over the holidays where everything is open, then in late January the bottom half is likely to close and complete that refurb over 2+ months.

I’m not sure when the first refurbed rooms will start being offered to guests. After Thanksgiving is a pretty safe bet. Could be sooner though. Once the top half completes refurb, all BW View bookings will receive a refurbed room. Standard and garden/pool could get either through the end of the year into January.

Once the bottom half gets closed off for refurb (sometime in Jan), then all reservations will be put into the already refurbed top half.

Any bookings Feb ‘24 and on are highly like put in refurbed rooms, though that could start sooner sometime in January.

Going by the schedule of rooms pulled out of the system, I suspect all BW Villas will be open and refurbed by April 2024.

I had tried to book but am on the waitlist since they were all blocked off.Fingers crossed !
