Going on my first cruise (Eastern Carib 11/5) - weather reports for ST Thomas and Tortola show there maybe some rain - will Disney cancel excursions if raining on port mornings? Are the weather forecasts for BVI usually accurate 10 days out? Thanks!

Unless it's a deluge, excursions will go on. In my experience, it always rains a little to a lot every day in the Caribbean.

I am not sure any rain forecast is super accurate 10 days out.

Like Shmoo said, there's usually rain on any given day, but over the next week, your current rain forecast could change to 3 a.m. in the morning or 3 p.m. in the afternoon.

Keep in mind that some excursions (e.g., snorkeling trips) will be cancelled if it is really windy or the water will be rough.

Thank you for your responses - we have a full Jost Van Dyke beach day booked for Tortola - fingers crossed - hoping for nice sunny day!

we were on a DCL excursion in Grand Cayman several years ago. A Catamaran Sail and Snorkel trip. It was "nice" when we set out on the cat, but about 5 minutes before we anchored, a big black rain cloud appeared overhead and it and it started to sprinkle. EVERYONE ran for cover (limited on the boat) because they didn't want to get wet. It was great for me an my family since we then didn't have to wait to get our equipment and then get off of the boat and into the water where it was WAY WETTER than the few sprinkles that fell. I think everyone got in the water and snorkeled. Still don't know what their issue was with the rain:confused3

Earlier this year we were in Tortola and there was periodic heavy rains in the morning. Our excursion to the Baths left between the downpours. After our sail to Virgin Gorda, we boarded trams that took us to the Baths. When we arrived it was raining very hard and the tour operators wanted everyone to stay on the tram until it got nicer. This time pretty much everyone got off and start walking down to the Baths (none of us melted in the rain).

Later in the cruise when we were at Castaway Cay the weather was simply awful, but the Cruise Staff said that everything except for the boating excursions were operational on the island. Within a couple of hours there were no activities.

That's a pretty long answer for No Disney Does Not Cancel excursions for rain - Unless it becomes unsafe.

And DCL will pass out WDW rain ponchos for free as you are leaving for some excursions if its raining.
