Just got back.
1. Since they are performing renovations, constructions sounds begin at about 9am until about 4pm. None on Sunday.
2. If there is a convention staying at the hotel, or a convention being held at the convention center, then they may put you in a room that ain't that great. Make sure you tell them you want to be transferred ASAP. Seems they are placing people in the Island building and then transferring people into either the tower or one of the side buildings. I was not impressed with the Island building.
3. The side building is great. In the tower, you may have to wait for a few elevators for space to get one. In the side building, you just go up or down a few floors to get to the cafe/restaurant or front desk.
4. The cafe on the first floor is great...a little expensive, but great morning food. Plus it opens at 6am and closes at midnight.
5. The restaurant is pretty expensive. Breakfast buffet is the most expensive...tons of food, but you can't eat enough to make it worth the $20/adult. Sunday buffet is a character meal. The prices for this buffet is much more reasonable. I think it was $18/adult, and $13/ages 12-6??
6. They have 4 internet computers set-up for guests. Hardly any wait...people are pretty considerate of hogging the computers when others are waiting.
7. This has to be the closest hotel to DTD. Just 50 feet from the corner of the property (by the Island building).
8. Once the renovations are completed in the tower (they are working from the top floors down), the hotel should be great. We stayed in 432, and it sounded like they were on either 5th or 6th floors.
9. We must have seen 20-30 different fireworks shows from the lounge floor (27th floor). You get a great panaramic view of Orlando. The fireworks from MK were amazing, and those from Epcot were right in front of you.
I would like to hear from others about their exeriences.
