BUZZ's Brigade - TEAM CHALLENGE - POST MILES/HOURS HERE

For the record, I don't think that any contribution is small. We are all working at this together. I know that I will never be able to put in some of the miles that some of you do. That is why Dave mixed us all up. So we would have balance. I am trying to compete with myself. I try to do as many miles as I did the previous week, or add something to my workout, like stretching or XT. In the end we are going to be one HEALTHY group! So, don't get down on yourself by having a small week. We are all going to have that at one point or another. Life gets in the way sometimes, so just keep moving! :cheer2: :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :dancer: :laundy:  (I tried to find all the moving smilies::yes:: )

So Go Team Buzzies!!!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Alright I have all of our totals minus Kathy. As soon as I get hers I will post the totals. Kathy, are you out there? pixiedust:

My numbers for the week were exactly the same as the previous week. My miles will be down this week as the treadmill is still busted and we have some bad weather headed our way (So I hear.)

This is all about getting up and moving so every little bit helps! :thumbsup2

Great work team!

Okay.. that is weird!!! I KNOW I posted my totals before I left for the weekend.. but.. looking back on the thread now that I am home.. Ummm... it's not there!!!! VERY STRANGE!!! Sorry team!! I didn't desert you.. I was buried under crinolin ;) (is that even how you spell it???) LOL!!

Anyway.. Here it is again... My last weeks totals were:

8 1/4 miles

2 hours 30 minutes...

It was small.. but snowy.. and I was sick! :(.. Soooooo best I could do....

So... Glad everyone is doing well.... The weather here is cold.. but.. no snow.. so.. I am hoping for some good outside work this week!!!

Okay.. I just got in from rehearsal.. and a VERY Fun filled weekend.. so.. I am off to gather my thoughts and bond with my kitties!! Have a great night TEAM!!!

Kathy

I don't want to leave anyone out in my thank you so thought I would come here to personally thank anyone who joined in with contributions in my name. WISH Team is the best!

:grouphug:

Alright Team week 3 is now in the books. Our Mileage was 274.75 miles and we had 66.37 hours. Our Mileage was the highest it's been. Go Team! :thumbsup2

Kathy (Valentine) - Annie is playing at the theater I have to walk past to get to my office - I thought of you when I saw that!

I hope everyone is having a good week! I'm still as busy as ever :sad2: Things usually calm down at work in the summer, but that seems a long way off. Right now I'm just sooooooo ready for spring to start. The weather (and my general lazyness) made me skip my 8 mile tempo run on Friday. I was feeling bad about that and having a low mileage week, so I made it up this morning! Not with running but on the exercise bike 30 minutes, 7.9 miles. I live in a high-rise condo building and we have a tiny gym on the top floor. I NEVER go up there because there are only 3 treadmills and 1 is almost always not working, there is always a line to use the treadmills, there is a 30 minute time limit, I never run for only 30 minutes at a time, and I don't really have the time to stand around waiting to use a treadmill (I can't even lift weights while I wait because they keep those locked up untill 8AM and I only run/workout before work). Anyway, I decided I would go up there this morning hoping that a bike would be free, and it was! (all treadmills occupied with lines, of course).

I finally have some cross training! And on Sunday I also started doing crunches and plan to do some everyday, so that will add a few extra minutes. I have NO core strength at all and I know that it negatively impacts my running.

Sorry for the all about me post - gotta get back to work.

I just wanted to say thanks to my Buzzies. It is so weird how being accountable to a group of people I don't know can help with life!:goodvibes

I was having a bad day, feeling pretty sorry for myself and a little down in the dumps. I had missed my morning workout (and if I don't do it first thing, it doesn't ever seem to get done.) I had some free time this afternoon but was feeling really lazy and still a little blue.

I finally said to myself "You need to get some excersize in today. You need some miles or minutes for your team." So I made a deal with myself to head down to the park (it is finally 48 and a little sunny). I had to walk around once (1.6 miles) and then I could go home.

Well, funny thing happened. I started feeling so much better. My mood improved, I worked out a lot of things in my head and I spent the time thinking about how grateful I am to have my life. Of course, I walked around twice because I was feeling so good. (3.2 miles!)

So, anyway. Thanks! If I didn't have to post my miles and minutes, I'd still be sitting around feeling sorry for myself!

THANKS BUZZIES!

Woohoo! I'm here. Thanks for the welcome.
As an intro I'm a slooooooow runner. My hubby got me interested in running when he started with Team in Training right after a friend of ours died of leukemia. I ran my first 1/2 marathon in January of '07, and proceeded to do something like seven more halves and two fulls in that year.
We had our first WDW trip in January, culminating in me doing the 1/2 and DH doing the goofy. We're registered to do the EEC as an anniversary present to ourselves. It looks like a very "us" event with the puzzle solving/scavenger hunt element, as we do something similar to that here in DL called MouseAdventure, just without the running part.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and checking in!

WELCOME BUZZIES!!!:cool1:

IheartDL - Yea for slow runners! Me too!

Here are my numbers for the week:

12.03 miles
3.833 hours

Have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome Leslie and Michelle!!

Jill - I'm glad you were able to use your walk to improve your mood and day.

My totals for the week:

34.53 miles
5 hours 26 minutes

Hi everyone!

I'm a newbie to running. I am on the 6th week of Marathoning For Mortals. I am also slow (very slow). I see a trainer twice a week. It helps keep me going. Sometimes on my own I'm not very consistent. I have done 8miles, 248 minutes this week. I will be taking next week off from exercise. My trainer does that once in awhile. I have some nagging injuries I am trying to get cleared up. So next week won't be so great, but after that I hope to make a great contribution to this team.

Have a great day!!!

Hi AuntieM! Glad to have you on the team! I LOVE Marathoning for Mortals. It is how I train! I started with walk 1/2 marathon then walk/run full marathon. And now I am run/walking half and full marathons. It's a great program. have fun!

For all you new buzzies and especially new WISHers, Valentine is good people. I saw that someone said eariler that you were on a team with people you didn't know, well let me tell you that will end when you do your first group event. The WISH princesses and the best, the prettiest, the wittyist and the most mischevious. We WISH guys just try to hang on and keep up.

:welcome: Leslie & Michelle! Slow is good!

I'm gonna go ahead and report my week's totals. Keep in mind that I expected to report almost nothing due to issues with the ankle (although I'd hoped to do upper body in the mornings... :rolleyes1), so the fact that there are any miles at all is a victory!

Miles: 3.29
Hours: 0:55 (that's 55 minutes guys - sorry!)

The good news is that I saw my chiro/active release guy this morning, and he said there is no stress fracture - it's all muscular. OH MY GOSH! He started working on it, and I literally came off the table while screaming in pain. But this is improvement, so he told me to continue not running until my half next weekend and he thinks I'll be fine!

I PROMISE to do more cross-training next week!

Jackie

Leslie and Michelle - Here is a warm Buzzie Welcome! :grouphug: Glad to have you aboard. I am a newbie runner too. I am on my 5th week of C25K with a little extra added in. I am in training for a 10K in May. I have NEVER been a runner. I have always gotten too winded, and never thought I could ever do it. Well, the c25K taught me how. I ran the AK 5K with my daughter in Jan. as part of my 40th birthday celebration (Michelle - you were my first post on that thread - so THANKS! ). Well, I want to keep the momentum going. Leslie - that is awesome! What a way to honor your friend. That EEC looks so cool! I wish I could convince DH that I need to go back this year. :rolleyes1

We're glad to have you girls with us!

Oh and Chris here are my totals for the week:

Miles: 18.46

Minutes: 6 hr. 43 min.

I challenged myself to increase this week, and I did it on both accounts! More miles AND more minutes! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Jackie, I helped take up your slack, so don't worry about it. ;) Just get to feeling better. Sorry the doc hurt you, but maybe you will start to feel better soon.

Panda, thanks for the new teammates! :thumbsup2 Watch out though, I've got my laser beam fired up and ready to go.:rolleyes1 Ready to zap a misbehaving Panda at any moment.

Hi Buzzies

310 minutes
15.293 miles

The new puppy is finally sleeping through the night, but she wants to get on the TM with me, so I have it barricaded behind boxes. Then of course she goes to the backdoor pretending that she needs to go outside!! It's been a challenge!
