Duane - then I'm glad I posted before you.

I'm a slug!
Ok, I had a FIRST today with my 5K. It POURED down rain before our run. They do a 10K first, and it is a 5K loop that they do twice. Well, it came a complete downpour before those folks even got to the finish line. I'm so glad I opted for the 5K, or I probably would have been a DNF. I found some protection from the Gatorade tent, along with about 30 of my closest friends.

I was there with two friends from church who were running their first 5K. I felt so bad for them. It wasn't the optimum experience I wanted for them. Plus we were on top of a mountain, and it was quite a bit cooler too.
Luckily, it stopped by the time we started. Although, I had to stand on the "older" side starting line.

They divide you to help with the start. Anyway, my friends were faster than me, and I told them to go on ahead. I ended up just being a minute behind them at the finish though.

I'm not sure what my time was because I forgot to look and I forgot to turn off my Garmin at the finish.

They will post results by Monday, since they didn't want to run the laptops in the rain.

*so this spot will be reserved for Allie's results*
With my Half Marathon training I was supposed to run 5 today, so I stopped by the local greenway on my way home and ran another two miles, wet and all, and did my two miles.
