There was quite a line--people were very unhappy when it did not open at 9:00. When we did get in, it seemed like the waiting area was repainted, but the ride vehicles were still in need of refurbishment.
I sure hope they get to those cars soon! They were in desparate need of refurbishment with chipping paint on our last trip. It's such a great Disney ride, I'd like to see its upkeep maintained!
I've rode Buzz at least 75 times over the past year.....while I do find the cars are in need of a spruce up....they lasers haven't been a problem.....And even my last trip Jan 20 I rode it once (only had 9 hrs at WDW) got my best score yet....
For a total of 1,149,099 points.....I maxed out my first gun and then started on the second gun......
My thoughts about the cars are that the ride is fairly new and the wear and tear has been excessive and probably not anticipated...And they plan the refurbs in advance (probably a year or 2) and Buzz will get done but to get the parts ordered to replace the worn pieces will take some time because they need to be ordered and made.....
There aren't any rides at WDW that adults can't go on - even if they don't have any kids with them. Buzz Lightyear is one of my favorites (and I've been an adult for quite some time).
