I did it the first time that way--sheer luck. Lots of others have too, hence the buttons.

My husband, son and I have all done it. I did it twice in one trip and did not use secret buttons...the ride did stop in the volcano room though and that is all it took.

My son did it on his own without the ride stopping...no secrets. Its really not as hard as people think!

Unless your gun is really badly sighted, maxing out is very easy once you've discovered what to shoot at.

Now maxing out Men in Black is a whole different story - that one takes a lot of work, and a fair amount of skill.

(And the "button" didn't refer to a button you push during the game to max out your score, but to a button that the ride operators hand out to those who max out the game.)

You know, like "I'm Celebrating" or "Happy Birthday". I believe this one is "Galactic Hero" or something similar.

Everyone in my family has maxed it out at 999,999, with NO cheats or ride breakdowns.

We've just played it a lot, that's all. And we don't always succeed in doing so, the last time I rode, I only got in the 300,000's.

I knew what you meant...but I thought she meant secret buttons like the secret spots you can shoot in the rooms that are worth high values!

I once got 999,999 on both guns on my own (have to upload that pic someday). We did stop about ten seconds in the Zurg pedastill room at just the right spot and that was all I needed. If we hadn't stopped I don't think I could have done that but I do regularly get 999,999 on one gun.

I thought that was what you meant until other people started referencing a cheat button.

Glad there isn't one, that would take out the fun of it.

I've ridden the ride one time ever and I got the 999,999 score. I never could tell which little red dot was mine I just constantly hit the button (apparently it isn't a button, but I don't actually remember) and moving my gun around. I got the high score before the last couple rooms and then started using my son's gun since he was too small to do it. I got the button

Many people now just use the same targets over and over from playing so many times that they know which one's will score high. My girlfriend and me didn't know which targets were the high point ones until we kept playing, and eventually we found enough that we were able to get 999,999.

LIARS! (Just Kidding - no flames!) The only time I was able to get the max score was when the ride stopped.....

My sister always beats me. When I asked her to tell me what she shoots at to get high points she would not tell me. Will anyone share the secret with me?
