Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

That sounds so much better! I hate the fact that I never know what I've hit and only know I've hit something because I got points! That is another reason we love TSMM, since we can see immediate what we hit with our color and also the fun reactions of many targets.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at DL also has a different layout with different scenes, somewhat different targets, and is on a single level. The vibe is the same, though. The real difference is often there's no line at DL, so re-riding is much easier throughout the day.

We've had non working gins too. That's a bummer.

Non-working guns are one thing. Completely different story when the Gin stops working! :D (Couldn't resist)

As others have posted, since the guns are a rather important factor in the attraction, I would mention it to CMs and hope for a re-ride.

I found at Disneyland this ride was always a long wait. After getting on it finally i dont know why anyone would wait so long.

Is it the same at Disney world? Even my daughter who loves toy story was dissapointed. Felt like i was shooting at nothing having no idea if i hit something or not.

DW has performed one short and one longer rehab in the last couple years, so it is better, but it is still an older ride. In a way, I would like
for it to stay the way it is, with an added element of difficulty trying to figure out which way your gun is shooting.....

It's pretty run down, both cosmetically and functionally. Last Saturday the robot's arm wasn't moving and a handful of people in front of us were allowed to change cars and ride again because their guns didn't work. I wouldn't lose sleep over missing it these days.

It's always a longer wait at Disney World, but you can't lift the guns, and the targets don't light up when you hit them.

We've had guns that didn't work well several times even on our last trip a couple weeks ago. This used to be a "must do" for my family, but now we only go on if the lines aren't too long.

Well, it cuts both ways. Haunted Mansion at WDW is superior, as is Tower of Terror, Splash Mountian, and even Peter Pan (my evaluation only). Thunder mountain is about the same excepting the new effects (which I believe they are adding at WDW in the current refurb - those new effects also were not running 100% when I was at DL a few weeks ago).

I actually didn't like Hyperspace Mountain. The added projections don't look that good or convincing (same for Ghost Galaxy). I prefer just regular Space Mountain, and I actually kinda like the WDW version better, though I do like that DL is a smoother ride.

I agree with you on the rides you mentioned (especially Haunted Mansion and TOT). I really liked the Star Wars music in Hyperspace Mountain. It really got me feeling full of Star Wars energy.

The music was great actually, but the projections kinda blow it for me. Ghost Galaxy has the same problem, where they project the new overlay in front of you, but it is too bright and you can see the square of light around it. Also, I felt the Star Destroyer looked very small, not "in the distance" like I think it is supposed to (possibly because it is too bright and you can see the surface it is projected on). I do like the red and green laser effects on HSM too though.

OK, tell the truth. You just came here to brag about your scores. :P

It isn't my aim that's great so much as my knowledge of the ride. Sometime when the line is short, partly sacrifice a ride on Buzz to verify the value of the targets you hit to see their point value.

A second thing to note is that the targets take a time to reset. I'm not 100%, but I think some of the targets have longer resets.

Third, in order to score, you have to hit the electric eye in the middle of the target. It works like the electric eye of an electric garage door opener.

Buzz is one of my favorite rides, but only when I score 999,999, otherwise I get cranky at my incompetence :rotfl2:. My biggest peeve is when the robots arm isn't moving at the very beginning of the ride because if its functioning, that's my sweet spot to get several 100,000 targets. My biggest mistake was teaching my husband where the 100,000 spots are because ever since, he gets 999,999 and I don't >:(
