I was wondering if anyone knows where I should look for resales of dvc properties. Also, does anyone have any experience doing this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:bounce:

Click on the Timeshare store banner at the top of this sheet. Personally, I have always purchased directly from DVC but there are lots of folks who have successfully purchased resales at reduced rates. Good luck.

I bought through Jaki Apetz at A Timeshare Broker 888-345-2622. We had a great experience which was easy and quick. She has a great professional work ethic and you will enjoy working with her.

Good luck and tell her hi from Ed

I bought 2 resales from The Timeshare Store, one at OKW 5 years ago and one at BWV 2 months ago. Both transactions were very smooth.

FWIW, I also tried Jaki at many people's suggestion and did not find her to be very helpful. She finally contacted me 3 months after my initial 2 phone calls to her. I wasn't looking for anything particularly exotic, just a BWV resale with 150-300 points with a June or later use year with banked points. She finally called me with a contract 2 weeks after I received my new membership card from the contract I bought from The Timeshare Store (200 points, 100 banked, August UY).

We purchased our first through Disney and two more contracts through Jaki at atimeshare. She was wonderful. Although you may have to pay closing costs... anything can be negotiated. We ended up saving paying $60 for 100 additional points and $62 for the another 200 point contract; both at BWV.

Shontell is very nice and very knowledgeable. Here is her info:

The Timeshare Store (at the top of the page) is the sponsor of the forum and merits our consideration. They seem to have good reviews on the DIS boards.

I used the Timeshare Store and it went great. Shontell was my broker so my feeling is with either of these you won't go wrong.

We bought resale through the Timeshare Store three years ago. The process was simple and painless. We were kept informed and had no trouble with our agent.

It enabled us to afford many more points than would have been possible through Disney. If you can find what you need (number of points and your favorite DVC resort) I would definitely buy resale.

I'd recommend contacting multiple brokers. You can do a google search for DVC resale or Disney Vacation Club Resale and come up with one or two others. (The other big broker no one has mentioned is Reid for Florida). Each will have different listings, and if you are looking for something specific in a quick time frame, this may be the driving factor. Otherwise, go with whomever gives you good service.

When we were initially looking to purchase, I emailed both of the timeshare brokers mentioned here often. Neither responded to my email......and we ended up buying direct from DVC. I don't know that we would have found a resale that we wanted at the time, but I didn't persue resale at all since I was a bit put off by not getting any response. I will look into resale next time...though mainly because I may want to purchase a property that's already sold out.

Although I am slow at getting to this post, I would be honored to help you if I can. Thanks to everyone who mentioned me, btw!

I helped open the Timeshare Store in '97 and just left them to start my own company in March. While I still do my best to get resales for everyone I continue to highly recommend their services if I don't have what you are looking for...
Please give me a call if I can be of assistance.

Kind regards,
Shontell

Used DVC, I've never heard it referred to that way, I like it. Need to check out the condition of what your buying used.....
