Walk me through this since I am a newbie! We are traveling in September. I am worried about hurricane season, but if we feel there will be a chance of a hurricane during our trip, Disney will allow us to postpone our trip, correct? Is there a cutoff to do this? Travel insurance would not have anything to do with this unless a hurricane makes landfall while we are there and we are stranded or something, correct?? I plan on purchasing travel insurance for our flights and in general, but I did not want to buy the premium insurance just because it is hurricane season if we will be allowed to just postpone our trip. Does all this make sense, haha?!

Since the 1970's I believe Disney World parks have been closed a total of 4 days due to Hurricanes. It's rather rare. When it has occurred the parks are generally closed only 1 day. Because WDW is inland the issue isn't wind nor fear of anything being destroyed. The issue is just a lot of rain. Guests are told to stay at their resort until its over then everything opens back up. So yes, you can lose a park day but no fear of destructive forces!

I wouldn't worry about hurricanes. They have been pretty rare the last few years. Given that we buy AIG Travelguard. The terms are pretty clear on the web site.

yep as other have said I would not worried about it more then likely at most you might have a day of heavy rain and some wind. but I am a Floridan and have been through my share of hurricane so they really do not bother be any more.
