If I wanted to buy tickets for April 27th & May 8th would it be cheaper to buy them separately or together?

Not much difference.

A one day ticket to a park other than Magic Kingdom is $94.

A two day ticket to any of the parks is $188 (double the one day).

A one day ticket to MK is $99.

Your dates are close enough together to choose either option, and it looks like the 2 days is at worst a wash, and might save you $5-10. So that's what I would do.

UNLESS you want to Park-Hop on both days.
If you DO, buying a 2-day Hopper will be much cheaper.

2-day Hopper = $252.41

1-day Hopper $142.71 (x2) = $285.42

(Prices INCLUDE tax.)
