A friend of mine just got back from wdw/universal.
he has 5 - 2day/2park tickets that he didn't use. we are a family of 5 that are going in april. He says he will sell these to me at half the price he paid for them. he doesn't plan on going back.
can i buy these and use them? i know him quite well, so i know he's on the up & up.
he says they have no expiry date, and there are no names on these.
So i'm assuming i can buy these and use them with no problem?
tks.

As long as the tickets haven't been signed you won't have any problems using them, this, of course, if you know for a fact that they haven't already been used.

I spoke to my friend today about buying those universal tickets, I asked him if they were already signed? he looked at me as if i had 2 heads...he says the tickets are like credit cards with a magnetic strip on the back..and nowhere is there a place to sign, even if he wanted too. sooo whats the signing thing your talking about?

I have never seen regular tickets like that unless they are annual/seasonal passes. It sounds like to me he is talking about the hotel keys they give you for front of the line. Unless someone here has more information I would NOT buy them. Even the vouchers aren't plastic. All the tickets I have seen are paper except for AP/Seasonal passes which are plastic and they have your picture on them.

The only 5 day tickets I have ever seen have a place for a signature on them. You are required to sign in and they verify signatures upon entering the park. Some in my group just had these in July and they all had the signature line on them.

The tickets do have magnetic strips on them, but they are paper. They are scanned at the turnstiles like subway tickets.

Her friend has 2-day, 2 park tickets (not 5 day tickets). I don't believe the 2-day tickets have to be signed but I don't really remember. But even if they don't require a signature, they are definitely not plastic like credit cards. They are paper with a magnetic strip.

Ooops, I mis-read. Thought it said 5 day tickets, I see now what I did. Sorry. But maybe the ticket holder means like credit cards because of the strip and shape, not necessarily that they are plastic. Just a thought.

That makes sense. I don't think the 2 day tickets have a place for signatures. So maybe the tickets are just fine. I'll try to remember to look at the tickets on Thursday when I go.

I have still a day left on a 2-day ticket and it does NOT have a place to sign. It is a thin plastic coated ticket. Maybe that is where the confusion lies. I've had this ticket for 2 years and still have not used and its good as new. Our group got the 5-day 2 park tickets this past week and they were required to sign them. HTH:teeth:
