Good Morning Guys

I have some questions for you. I noticed that the tickets on the UK international site for Universal, are more expensive then if you buy them from the US site. Can you purchase from the US site? Or is the difference not that much? Is there an advantage to buying them in the UK?

What about Mickeys tickets? Do you prepurchase in the UK? Or buy in the US?

I'm looking for a crash course on issues the international traveler has coming over to Orlando. :teacher: I will really, really appreciate it if y'all could give me your opinions. I know it takes time to write out detailed responses, so I want to THANK YOU in advance if you can help me out.

(I am wondering if there are restrictions or fees or other barriers when you go to purchase the tickets in Britian.)

TIA

UK travellers have the choice of buying UK tickets or US tickets. (US travellers can't buy UK tickets)
It all depends on the type of ticket you are looking for. For example for Universal/IOA in the UK we can buy a 14 day unlimited ticket for only £10($15) more than a 1 day hopper in the US.
UK Disney tickets are for 7, 14 or 21 days with access to the 4 parks, water parks, Disney quest & now Minigolf compared to the US MYW tickets where you start with a base ticket and add what you want.

Tickets arequite complicated to compare, anything specific you want to know just ask.

how many times do you intend to visit the universal parks and how many times the disney parks.

Keep in mind that there are two universal parks: Universal and Islands of Adventure

as for the disney parks, there are 4 major theme parks and 2 water parks within the disney resort as follows:
the 4 disney theme parks in walt disney world (orlando)
Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Disney's hollywood Studios
Animal Kingdom

in addition, disney has 2 water parks:
Typhoon Lagoon
Blizzard Beach

there are other attractions as well, but those are the major ones at disney

so how many days are you planning on visiting?

the best ticket to buy depends on how many days you plan to visit and whether you want to do multiple things each day

As Wayne & Beth have said, it really depends on your personal touring plans. Many years ago, when we used to stay off site, we would buy 5 day hopper tickets for Disney & a 2 day ticket for Universal. In general it was cheaper for us to buy them in the US. These days because we stay on-site and spend more (but shorter) days in the parks we get the UK 14 day Ultimate through Disney.

If you have an idea on how many days you want to spend at Disney and how many days you want to spend at Universal, I'm sure we can all point you in the right direction for the best prices for you.

We found the UK tickets cheaper for both our 14 day and upcoming 7 day trip. It's only cheaper to buy US tickets if you aren't intending to use the park hopper option, water parks or DQ.

The good news is 14 days generally costs the same as 7, so I view that as cost saving for longer trips! Lol

Thank you for your information

Question, If I purchased the 14 day 5 park ticket for Universal, and plan to go next summer, do I have to purchase using the 2014 price? Or Can I buy them now using the 2013 price, and use them next summer

Also, if you stay onsite, do you book your hotel online through the universal website? Does anyone have information on the new hotel that is being built on site, that is suppose to be more reasonably priced? Where do you guys typically stay? One of the Universal partner hotels? Or do you stay with Mickey?

Maybe there is a travel agency that specializes in Universal Travel?

TIA

Be sure which parks you want to visit, the 5 park ticket is often an expensive way to go, slightly cheaper to buy other tickets.
Not sure on the latest rules on dates, Universal at one time didn't have dates on tickets, maybe someone will post with latest info.

Hotels have to be priced up for your dates and checked every way possible. If staying a few nights its often worth buing an Annual pass to get the room discount. People often stay just for a few nights due to cost but their hotels include front of line access to many of the rides although this won't be a perk included with the new hotel.

I was wondering about buying the 2013 tickets and using them next May, the website I was looking on had a good offer but didn't seem to have the 2014 ones.

Interested if anyone had any details on it all.

Cheers Kirsten

2013 tickets need to be activated (first use) by 31st December. Most websites now seem to have 2014 available.

I've just purchased DC and Universal ones from Florida Escapes.

You must buy the tickets for the year you will be using them, as the 2013 tickets must have their first use by 31 December 2013 and so won't be valid next year.

Cross post :)

I don't think there much cheaper as when purchasing on an American site usually there prices do not include sales tax which will be added at the end x
