So the hojo is offering the entertainment rate during our trip and I'd like to book it, but when I looked into purchasing the entertainment book, their website signs you up for "automatic annual renewal" - I have had problems with companies that do this in the past. Have people been able to cancel this easily after getting their ent. book in the mail?

I, and many others on this site, have purchased the ent. card off of ebay for about $4-5, incl. shipping. It does not come with a book, but I didn't care about that. If you just need a card, that's a great way to go.

it is much easier to just buy the card on ebay for a couple bucks I have done this several times and no need to worry about the coupon book!!!

Last year I bought the Entertainment Card at eBay.com.

It cost me $2.99, which included shipping. (The seller had a 99% positive rating.)

I showed the card at the HoJo front desk, and didn't have any problems. :thumbsup2

HTH :earsboy:

If you really do want the book (for me, there are local discounts that are useful, so I've never just bought the card), if you go to the buy page with the picture of the book you want and the big info about ordering the '11 book and getting the '10 book for free....look under the picture of the book:

Just want the 2010 book? It's yours for just $9.99 plus shipping.

Click THAT buy now, and I'm sure you can just get the book you want.

If you want the book for coupons and such, starting in August or September most likely some of the schools/kids groups around your city/town will start selling the 2011 issue. Our local MOPS group does this as a fundraiser every year. I know you can normally purchase them at a Borders bookstore as well (not sure this late into 2010 but maybe they still have them).

I knew you Hojo experts would know what to do- Ebay never would have even crossed my mind! You're awesome.

I had a bad experience with the Entertainment Book company sending me 2 books with standard shipping, when I ordered 1 book with faster-than-standard shipping. My trip was coming up, so that was a real problem. No one would take responsibility for the error on their website, and I had to just about beg them to even offer to send me a third book (at my expense). I also had to ship back the old books which arrived during my vacation, and pester them about crediting my account with the return. In the end, I came out I think $5 poorer than I would have been had they processed my order correctly to begin with.

So, I'm glad you're going to eBay. :)

I forgot to mention that Hojo's is offering an AP rate that is the same as the entertainment rate now! I think they are for the same dates, so if you happen to have an ap, you don't need to get an Ent. card.
