Buying Stock to "pay" for annual passes

I am wondering if anyone else out there invests in Disney stock to "pay" for their park passes/tickets/etc. I use the quotes because I am only talking change in value, as I dont sell my shares each year to buy tickets.

The last couple years have been crazy, but in the past I was always just hoping for enough upside to offset the costs of my tickets. Recently, its like the stock gains enough to pay for large portions of trips.

Anyone else think this way? Or am I just crazy?

No. I don't think that way.

My gains (or losses) are not real until I liquidate the investment. Until then, it's only numbers on paper, not money that I spend.

Sometimes I spend my dividends, usually I reinvest them. But I certainly don't own Disney for the dividend payments.

Yeah, the money is only real when its realized. To realize it I have to sell some stock. I've realized Disney probably three or four times over the past twenty years, but not to pay for park tickets - but because I feel its underperforming. Right now, its not.
