Hi all-I've decided to buy resale at BWV. I want to start w/a small contract (@100-150) and add on later.
To the point, what would you pay per point? I know this may vary a bit depending on stripped contracts etc, but basically what should I expect to realistically pay?

If you look at the ROFR post you can get a good sense of what is passing Disney's ROFR for BWV lately. Even if you find a great "deal" it would be disappointing to not get the contract you want. If you use the Timeshare Store (great to work with!) they can give you lots of help. Plus, if you are only buying 100 points, an extra $1-$2/pt. isn't too much.

It seems as though $83-85 per point looks to be the going rate.

Something to think about as to whether you buy resale through an agent, or buy directly from Disney.

I just bought 200 BWV points from Disney. They were available immediately - I didn't need to wait - because I would take any use year. They had August UY available when I finally decided to go for it.

Now, I paid $95 per point, HOWEVER, since it was from Disney, they gave me all of my 200 05/06 points and I have another 200 points coming on 8/1/06. Since I'm a new member they also allowed me to bank those 200 points even though the deadline was passed. I had been worried that 200 points was cutting it close for my family - but that is the money we had to spend. Now, with those 200 banked points and the way the whole banking system works, we can take vacations that are 210-225 points per year for several years to come.

I'm also an impatient person and wouldn't handle the ROFR process very well. Psychologically it was great to be able to buy at BWV on Friday and make my reservations for a 1 BR Boardwalk View for my birthday week in March (at 210 points).

BUT, if you aren't in a rush, you are patient and you don't need your 05/06 points, you will probably pay $10 less per point through a resale agent. In any case, I'd call Disney and see if they have 150 BWV points available (150 being the minimum you can buy in through them).

The best way to buy a contract like you want resale is to call one of the resale brokers and tell them specifically what you are looking for. Smaller contracts often are sold off of "call lists" before they are advertised.

I've used the board sponsor, The Timeshare Store, and they are great to work with. They can also probably give you as good a guess as anybody about what will clear ROFR and what will not, because they sell so many contracts.
