Buying Resale with 62 points Expiring Aug 31st

We are currently awaiting ROFR for contract that has 62 2008 banked points that will expire Aug 31st. We are nowhere near DW or DL so making a quick trip is not possible.

What can be done with these points other than booking a few nights for a family member that is near DW? We haven't seen much info about the other resorts around the country.

We live in the Northwest. I saw in the Disney information some resorts on the Oregon coast and in Washington state.
Can we book a night or 2 to use these points up or do you have to use a full week at a time through RCI?
How do you book these? Is it a points system like the DVC resorts?

Can someone please explain our options here?

You could use them for single nights outside of DVC, but you would have to make the reservation before May 1. After May 1, you'd be within the last four months of the use year.

It is a Sept UY. We are awaiting ROFR so I would hope to have the points available for use by mid to late March. Can you not book in last 4 months of use year?

Being hopefully new owners by mid-March, how likely are people to rent from us if we've never done it before? I probably wouldn't rent from someone with no history of doing it. I'd be too worried I'd by scammed.

You can't book and use outside of DVC during the last four months of the UY.

For those single night places, you book those through MS. There are hotels all over the place that you can book by the night, but they aren't cheap.

What is not cheap? Just trying to get an idea of per night points required for some of the hotels around the country that we can use DVC points for. I've never seen a listing of what point requirements are.

They could be as low at 20 points per night for a smaller room in a less desirable location to 150 points per night for a prime time in a prime location.

Can't she just bank them? I have 26 points coming w/my new contract and my relator told me I could bank them up to some day in July.
We haven't received our packet yet so, I'm just learning off the seller/realator.

No she will be past her banking deadline by the time it closes and also they were banked from 08. You can bank the points once.
