Buying Resale for Vac. in 02/2007. Possible?

I want to buy BCV, but I know it takes about 7 weeks to close and then get on the system. Can you reserve a villa now with a deposit, then change and use your points once you buy in instead of paying the rest of the reservation cash?

No, you cannot do that.

When we purchased our points (directly from DVC) we were in the system and able to make reservations almost immediately--like within 24-48 hours of our initial purchase. It did take a few weeks after that to close, and IIRC there is a provision that if you do not complete the closing you must then pay the cash rate for the reservations you have booked. Call your guide to find out for sure how this works!

I think that if you acted on a resale contract very quickly you might get into the Disney system in a couple months time, but by then I doubt that by then there would be anything available at BCV by then.

If you have your heart set on BCV for Feb., you might want to look into renting the points you need from an owner.
