Buying PSP games in The States

Does anybody know whether American PSP games will play on a PSP purchased in the UK - I realise PS2 games are not compatible but wondered if this follows for the portable.

Any info guys?

PSP games are all 'region-free' so any PSP games bought in the US will play fine here on UK consoles, or indeed any where in the world.

This is not the case however with the UMD movies, these are currently available with some form of 'region' coding, and the UK is a different region to the US (but the UK is the same region as Japan funnily enough).

I did notice that some PSP games that include video clips were marked as 'region 1' when looking at games in the Florida Mall in December!

the larger majority do apart from the ones with video clips

we bought our nephew a psp from the states and he borrow one of his friends uk games, but the video clips wouldnt play on his, other games do though
