Buying Points From Disney

Ok, we sent our downpayment & contract back to TSS today, now, we just wait.....

In the meantime, I've been thinking about how many more BWV points to purchase from Disney, but my question is, when purchasing points from them, how long can I expect to wait on the "waitlist"....

I'd love to hear about any experiences that any of you have had....

It depends greatly on your use year. I had my Guide call me about 6 months ago telling me that she had points available at any of my three home resorts as well as SSR. This was at the same time that I knew others on this Board were waiting for points. Some months are available at any give time and others are not.

I don't mean to "hijack" this thread, but HBC...how DO you get to be a "Buzz Lightyear" Master? That is SOOO cool!!! I'd love to totally blow my dh away!!

And, on the wait...we have been on for SEVERAL months with nothing (for VWL), and now we are on for BCV. I have a feeling, we may just wait a year or so, and then buy a resale...I just don't see that coming through.

On Tuesday of this week...I took the plunge !!!
(You can read my thread "the add-on bug..wont bite me")

I'm really not looking to use any extra points until 2006. When I called my CM he put me on the wait list and told me it probably will take about 2 or 3 months.

I was very surprised it would be that soon. When I asked why he feels it would be in the short term (not that I dont want them..yesterday), he said well....maintenance fees are due and this is usually the time when reality sets in with some people who have over-extended their finances, not to mention the normal attrition and divorces.

We'll see!! Keep you posted!!
