I see tons available (a lot of them "free" kids passes).

Has anyone ever bought these. They run from 50% to 75% of cost, but I want to ensure their legitimate.

Please don't buy them. Many people have come to the park only to find that the adult ticket they bought is a child's ticket.

there is no way to ensure they are ligitimate until you get to the gates.

I remember someone here on the DIS posted that they fell for asob story on Ebay (guy claimed her ordered WDW tickets for his family and the family of a friend. The friend had to back out at the last minute). Turns out the tickets were completely used up. This poster was out closed to $1000 if I remember right.

CM's and USO emplyees who post here say it happens several times a day. People show up with tickets they've bought that are no good.

I sold Disney tickets on Ebay. Heck, when Hotwire Savings Club was up and running I made at least $50 on each ticket in general. We are not even going to talk about the many meal vouchers I sold. I even sold Disney tickets that were used - I was upfront and said that the tickets were originally 5 day hoppers that were used for only one day or so. All of my tickets have been legit. Now, I wouldn't buy tickets from a new seller and I wouldn't buy tickets too far in advanced. Within 60 days of your trip. That way if something does happen it is retractable - especially if done through a big bank. Read the sellers feedback, and look at all the items they are selling. If they have 100's of tickets - unless they are a company - yes they may be trying to get over. Read your auction carefully. There are many people with extra childs tickets - I am one of them. Because I am a family of 3 I have one extra childs tickets. I will possibly sell them online. My SIL (a family of 5) has two extra childs tickets because she has one son who is 11 and one is 8 and a baby girl who is 1, so she had to buy 3 adult tickets.

Ahh. Full price kills, but kills even more if you pay full + get scammed for another 50%. ;)

I agree, but if you use the full 5 days and also have a child that can use the free ticket, that's an outstanding deal. Also, if you're a member of Triple-A, check to see what they charge for Universal tickets. I've heard that they can have reasonable prices on Universal tickets.

Actually that is illegal. On eBay rules and regulations it says that you can't sell tickets for more then their value plus $1. The free child's tickets are free and the value is $0. Even when you scan the tickets, the value says $0. So legally by eBay's own rules, you can only sell them for $1.

I would much rather pay full price than risk my vacation being ruined by having illegal/invalid tickets - and, as there's no way of knowing till you arrive, to me it's just not worth the hassle.

Ebay is great if you want to buy knick-knacks or golf clubs, but don't screw up your family vacation by "saving a few bucks" on-line. You will get what you pay for - everytime.

I'm going to have 3 extra days on an adult and child's ticket. Can I give these away?

Not unless you plan on removing your finger and giving it to them too. ;) There is a biometric fingerscan for the tickets.

I only have three words for u DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!

If you can only sell tickets for the value plus $1 how do you explain the football ticket sales. Last year I saw Super Bowl Tickets selling for a couple of thousand dollars. I bought a childs ticket this year for Universal for $30. If I get there and it is not valid, oh well, it was worth a shot. By the way I have the ticket and it is pretty obvious it has never been used.
