Buying park tickets at on-site hotel

Hello all,

It's been nearly 3 years since our last trip to Universal and I cannot recall for the life of me if we purchased our tickets upon arrival at the hotel (RPR). I *think* we did because I ended up buying an annual pass to take advantage of the APR rate at the hotel.

We are staying at the HRH this time, and plan on buying 4-day park tickets (one park per day). I don't want to buy them ahead of time in case we have to cancel our trip. Will we be paying more if we wait until we arrive to purchase them? I am not planning on purchasing an AP this time, as the APR rates for the hotel are higher than the SMSM rates for our travel dates (as of today, anyway).

Buying multiday tickets at the gate cost $20 more than buying them in advance from Universal (Resellers are even a little bit cheaper). That being said, there is no requirement for how far in advance you need to order them. You could be standing in front of the park and order tickets off your phone (Either online at Universalorlando.com or calling them) for electronic pickup, walk over to a kiosk and pick them up moments later.

I've heard mixed stories about whether buying tickets at the hotel is considered "at the gate" or "In advanced". Hopefully someone who has done it recently can help there.

On my last trip, I used BestofOrlando.com . They do e-mail delivery of tickets that you can pickup at the Kiosks at the hotel or in front of the park. Right now, they seem to be a little bit cheaper than even Undercover Tourist on the 4 day ticket.

I think tickets at the hotels are the same price as at the gate...which is $20 more expensive than online. You can order them online the day before you arrive and choose kiosk pickup. The kiosk is in the hotel lobby and there are more at the parks. That is the easiest and cheapest way to do it if you want to wait til the last minute.
