Buying more points - different resort

We currently have 250 points for Vero Beach -- it was "the" deal at the time (year 2000) and frankly, we did not know all the in's and out's of DVC membership. We have since discovered we absolutely love the Epcot resorts. So my questions are these - (1) what are the "rules" of resale? If I buy someone's Boardwalk Villa or Beach Club re-sale points, do they expire under the original contract of the original buyer?? (2) We currently have 250points. If I buy 50 add'l points for Boardwalk or Beach Club, can I only reserve a room for those 50 points or could I use my entire 250 plus 50 points (300) and reserve those resorts 10 months in advance?

All the BWV and BCV contracts expire in 2042. So if you buy one of those now through resale, your expiration will remain the same--2042.

No, you can not combine points from two different resorts until the 7 month booking window.

At 11 months, you can use 250 points at VB, and 50 points at BWV. Of course, you can always use bankikng and borrowing to give yourself up to 150 BWV points to use at the 11 month window--but then you would only have them every 3 years.
