Buying more days vs Park Hopper

Hi, i'm new to this and am booking our first Disney vacation for Sept 2015. I was planning to do 5 days of tickets with the park hopper option, but while going through the booking process, it showed that just buying 7 days of tickets was alot cheaper than doing the park hopper option--ie, if i plan to do animal kingdom in the a.m. and then go to see a parade at magic kingdom at night, can't i technically just use 2 days of tickets? doing it that way saves me over $250 . Thoughts?

Sorry, but that isn't allowed. You can only use one day from your ticket per day. It would deny you at the second park.

You're not the first to think of that though. :)

This is correct. You'd have to buy two five day passes and use "Pass A" at the first park you went to each day and "Pass B" at the second park you entered. Cheaper to buy a hopper.

OP, keep in mind that you can add the hopper option once you are there. So you can try to make do without, but then add it the day you decide to use it. I have planned on using a hopper this way a couple times but always end up passing, because when it came time to do it, it never seemed worth what I was about to pay. But everyone tours differently and values different things.

If you don't buy a park hopper you are in essence buying days in a park. Once you use that day you cannot use another until it is a different day. If you want to go from one park to another you must buy the park hopper option.

I totally agree with this post. Great suggestion!
