Buying Magic bands but we are staying offsite?

My kids really want to have the experience with using magic ands but I would need to purchase them. What advantages will I have with using them in the park if I am staying offsite?

The only difference between having magic bands on site is using it to open your hotel door and being able to charge purchases in the park at certain places to your band. The band itself isn't charged because it doesn't hold info. It charges the credit card on file at the hotel.

Other than those two things, magic bands for on site or off site are identical

More importantly, the RFID park ticket will do the same things as the magic band will do. Except you don't have to pay extra for the RFID ticket. I think there are a couple of exceptions to that though. First, if you are eating at be our guest restaurant, they will have to give you a rose that helps them bring you your food instead of just finding you through the magic of your magic band. Second, if you plan to purchase ride photos or memory maker if you are wearing a magic band the ride photos will automatically be added to your account, if you don't have one you would need to scan your card somewhere in order to get them I am guessing, although I haven't actually seen places to scan at 100% of the rides offering photos (7 dwarves mine train comes to mind). If you don't buy photos, and don't eat at Be Our Guest, I can't think of anything you could get with the magic band that you couldn't get with just your RFID park ticket

At home, MagicBands unlock the Toy Box in the Disney Infinity game.
