Not sure this is where this should go, but. Anyway, wife and I solo trip coming up, would like to have some wine and bourbon for the room, but since we're flying and won't have a car, should I pack it or do the gift shops at the resorts sell liquor and wine?

Where are you staying? It may be best to find the thread for your resort where someone would have specifics. I'm pretty sure most resorts have at least a minimal selection. It will be overpriced but maybe worth the convenience of not having to transport it in your luggage.

Most Disney resort hotels have a limited selection. Typically standard "hotel" offerings like Bombay, Jack, etc. Similar with the wines. And, the markup is high - as you can imagine.

With that, a number of the countries in Epcot have wine available (especially Germany, France and Italy) - as well as sake in Japan. The mark up is still definitely there, and it's not an amazing selection. But, it's significantly better than the gift shops.

Staying at the Boardwalk. Epcot will be our first visit. So we could pick up wine for the wife there. But I'm more of a Whiskey guy. I'll try the Boardwalk thread too. Thanks

There's a Speedway gas/convenience station across the street from the Boardwalk parking lot. It's a regular walking trip for many that want more affordable than Disney beverages.

I know the Beach Club Marketplace has wine and pints of whiskey available.

I always pack mine in my checked luggage, inside a special "jet bag" made for bottles and air travel. Have never had a broken bottle or any leaks in many years. But, resort stores and many shops at World Showcase in Epcot have spirits for sale. Have fun!!

I've packed it before also. I always worry it'll break. But beyond that, it's heavy.

Boardwalk store definitely has wine and beer, not sure about bourbon. Price is about double you'd pay in a discount type liquor store. As others have noted Italy and France have a pretty good selection in WS.

Either Uber and get a good selection (which will be cheaper than buying from any place in WDW, especially the hard liquor), or pack the bourbon in a special sleeve and buy wine at the resort. My BiL does this, and my sisters and I have packed wine on our checked luggage. We've never had an issue with breakage or with the weight of our bags going over the limit over several trips.

Almost certain you can get Jack at Yacht Club store, so I imagine the same is true at Boardwalk. But as others have mentioned the markup is at least double from what you'd pay at your local liquor store.

I also thought I saw Garden Grocer delivers wine and beer and you can schedule your order in advance to take advantage of coupons. That would make it so you would just need to buy bourbon at the resort or maybe pack one bottle in your luggage.

I was also going to suggest a grocery delivery service (we use WeGoShop). It might be worth the shopping fee especially if you want some extra things like a case of water or breakfast stuff.

My husband always brings his own Jack, wraps it in bubblewrap, puts it in a ziplock bag, then in a tupperware container, has never had a problem.

Have you looked at any of the grocery stores that deliver? For DVC, we used Garden Grocer and were very happy. Depends on how much you will be ordering as to whether it is worth it. They have beer and wine. Have not looked at bourbon, etc.

Garden Grocer has a $50 minimum order and a $14 delivery fee. It works out if you have a lot you want, but not just for a bottle of bourbon

We also bring it. DH drinks bourbon and there are quite a few decent brands that sell in a smaller plastic bottle - so I buy one of those so the chance of breaking is less. I also bring Sutter Home wine because you can buy it in the 4 pack of the mini plastic bottles. I just put the bottles in a Ziploc in our checked luggage.

Just pad it well, put it in a heavy plastic bag, and put it in checked luggage. It will be fine.
