Buying Laptops in US

We fly out in 2 weeks to Orlando and are wondering if we can buy a laptop in the US and bring it back to the UK.

While I appreciate the voltage problem it has not affected us bringing other electricial items back ie razors.

Son off to university so would like to fix him up with one especially as they are a lot cheaper in the US.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

The price difference on computer equipment has shrunk over recent years. Also, if Customs catch on, you will pay a chunk of duty on it!

There are lots of good deals in the UK and you should have less issues with warranty/support.

You can do some price comparisons at the following US sites:

www.bestbuy.com
www.circuitcity.com

These are both large retail stores. You could do better with online sites, but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.
