we're staying at Sheraton vistana in June - I want to simplify things and am considering pre-ordering the groceries at the on site grocery store which will have them ready for me to just pick up on arrival. My question is if this is worth the extra cost? I know there is a super Walmart close by but this option of having the groceries all ready for us when we get there just seems so convenient. Has anyone done either? your preference? I plan on buying breakfast, lunch & snack items as groceries and having dinner in the parks ( I have 3 teens so I think eating breakfast & lunch at the hotel will be a huge money saver ). thank you

I looked at the menu of what's provided and it's a little expensive.

Besides food, I need things like laundry detergent when I check in. The Vistana has an on-site grocerette called "The Market Place" which sells groceries, household stuff like laundry detergent, and a deli. It's located in the center of the resort and it's walkable from all corners. It was recently remodelled, and improved greatly in my opinion. While still a little pricey compared to Walmart, you have more of a selection compared to the package they offer.

There is a Publix grocery store about 2 miles away on Vineland Rd and a Super Walmart about 3 miles south on Route 535. I usually just go to the Publix right after I check in, get my groceries for the week and get back to the Vistana in a turnaround time of about 30 minutes.

We stay at Vistana every May. We have never ordered the grocery services and I have never been to Publix. We always build in some time just after check-in to head to Walmart and stock up on our soda, water, groceries, etc. As you exit Vistana back onto 535 - turn RIGHT and Walmart is down on the right hand side. This works for us since we already have a rental car and we often get some inexpensive souvenirs at the Walmart as well. Only you can decide if the convenience of the pre-stocked services is worth the price. You will save time if you chose that option and can get to your vacation activities that much faster.

I love the Super Walmart everyone has mentioned here as well. But if you really don't feel like going out in traffic and shopping (and I can appreciate that), you might try using Garden Grocer : http://gardengrocer.com/

You order and pay online and they deliver right to your villa. They give you a 2 hour window of delivery time. They have gotten many thumbs up from DIS'ers and from posters on other message boards.

We found a similar service offered at Marriott Grande Vista and Cypress Harbor to be very overpriced and with a limited selection. If you are particular about your brands, I would suggest just going to the grocery on your way to check in or just after check in.

The Super Walmart is soooo close that I would save your money and use it for one more snack at Disney! The one exception would be if you are arriving late and want breakfast foods waiting.

We'll be at the Vistana in two weeks. Hope to see you there!
