We are driving from Illinois, and hope to buy some fireworks while passing through Tennessee.....only problem is, we won't get to Tenn until at least 8:30 pm on a Sunday night and will be driving straight through. Is there any place that is open at odd hours that sells fireworks? We'll be passing through Clarksville, Nashville, and Chattanooga. Our return trip will be no better time wise - we'll get there around 2am. Am I crazy to think this is even possible? :rotfl:

:confused3 can't you buy fireworks in Mo. ???? heck our neighbor guy has a fireworks store in his garage !!!!! no joke we had a yardsale and this old guy from down the street is talking to dh and gives him a pricelist for fireworks.......usually they'll have big billboards on the road....or you could do a search on the internet..... :coffee: good luck and don't blow off a finger !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

We are in northern IL, so we won't be going though MO. I've looked and looked, and have found plenty of places that sell them, just haven't been able to find any info regarding the business hours. :confused3 I guess I'll just wait and see if we have any luck when we reach TN - was just kinda hoping that somebody here might know for sure. :goodvibes

But there are many many fireworks stores that are open until midnight along I-24 and I-75 (maybe I-40) that I know of. I live in southern middle TN and went to school in east tn. I don't know much about west tn. There are none that I know of on I-65.

We should arrive in TN by 8:30 pm, so anywhere along 1-24 that's open until midnight will work out great for us! I'm really glad to know ahead of time that it is possible. Thanks for the info. :goodvibes

They are huge and usually out in the middle of no where. Very bright--tons of lights--you can't miss them. I know there are some that you will hit on the southern side of I-24. I have visited a couple and I had to walk to one one night when my alternator went out on my car on the interstate--that one was around the Tracy City/Mt. Eagle area. Good luck and have fun!!

You should have no problem bying fireworks anytime during the night. I would suggest picking them up on your return home instead of on the way down.We stopped on the way home to gas up at 2am and they were open. Usually around I-24 in the mountain area there are numerous stores you can see from the highway. We also live in the southwest suburbs of Illinois and usually depart on Friday night around 4pm and arrive in Florida 10-11 am driving straight thru and stopping for Meals and rest stops.

2 AM!?! Alrighty then....guess I won't stress about getting there by any particular time! Thanks :thumbsup2

It's my first road trip to WDW, so I'm kinda excited to see if all the driving plans fall into place - sounds like, based on your experience, that my estimated time frames should work out just fine - we, too, are doing the drive straight through, only stopping for gas/potty/snacks (and fireworks!) marathon. :moped:
