Buying DVC AP

Hi All,

I tried to find this in a sticky so I apologize if this has been asked and answered already.

I just purchased DVC direct from Disney yesterday (BLT Home Resort!). I am headed in December to AoA -- that trip is already done and paid for. While down in WDW, I want to buy AP's and I understand that I can get a discounted AP for being a DVC member. Can I convert my Magic Your Way tickets to a DVC AP? Or do I just buy the DVC AP's separately?

Any help for a newbie would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks!! I read that one just wanted to be sure that DVC was included too.

The DVC Member & FL Resident APs are separated out because of eligibility requirements and pricing. They are unique tickets, each with their own price points. But when it comes down to it, an AP is an AP (or a PAP is a PAP) regardless of eligibility or pricing.

If you wish, you can ask your guide to secure a reservation for you for your December dates if you want to use your newly purchased points. This a perk of buying direct. Then you can cancel your package at AoA and just buy the DVC APs outright without having to do the upgrade.

Oh, and just to warn you... you are most certainly going to get responses from the "Why didn't you buy resale???" contingent, which is a small but very vocal group of members who feel the need to tell direct purchasers to cancel their contract and buy resale instead. So don't feel bad. Happens to everyone who dares to admit they bought direct. Like we did, also at BLT in April 2010.
