My DH(to be!) has noticed that the dollar exchange rate is really good at the moment, nearly 1.9 to the pound. we are not going till oct 06 but he wants to buy some dollars now - does any body else to this?

Also last time we went 2003 i bort our passes on line through an american company but i can't remember the site can anyone help? i know it wasn't keith prowse.

I'd be interested to know where it's $1.9 (nearly) to the £. The best rate we've been able to find is $1.81

With regard to buying tickets, there are a lot of places where you can get tickets online. Not sure about buying them a year in advance - I'd be interested to know this, too, as although we've got enough days on our MYW tickets to last us through this and next years' trips, we need to buy passes for my DDs.

We also want to buy Flex Tickets for 2006.

For our 2005 trip we bought passes and $ over a year in advance. It is recommended you buy tickets asap as they do go up in price every year and once bought they will be honoured. We had bought hoppers for this year and then Disney changed to MYW, I nearly had a heart attack thinking our tickets would be invalid!

The only reason we bought $ so early was the exchange rate, we were patting ourselves on the back for that one as we saved over £100 had we bought them the day before we left!

We're not going 'til next year but have already bought some dollars (from m&S a few months back) and intend to get some more soon as the $ rate is good. It helps spread the cost doing it this way too.

We're also going to buy our Disney tickets before the end of this year as I believe they often increase the prices in the new year. We're getting magic your way tickets with the no expiration option so i can't see that that buying them so soon in advance will be a problem. I'd also be interested to know where is the best place to buy tickets as we have always purchased them direct from Disney before.

Best place to buy tickets will change.

We bought ours from Attraction tickets direct in 2004 for our 2005 trip but within a month wherever DH dad got his from worked out cheaper.

This time we have gone with TCD and included them with rest of holiday bill as it didnt work out substantially better to but them seperatley.

I would keep an eye on a few places and also wiegh up their delivery charge and do you get tickets or vouchers before buying at the end of the year.

We bought our tickets 9 months in advance cos the exchange rate was so good. Saved a packet. Got them from ticketmania in the US, even with $10 postage it worked out a lot cheaper than anywhere in UK.

If you get traveller Cheques don't date them until you are about to spend them otherise I think they expire after 6 months like proper cheques.

We normally buy $'s when the rate is good, anywhere near 1.8 is good-going on last year, best I got was 1.83 & worst 1.71.- Normally we use the Post Office,as they were pretty close to Travelex last year but they seem to be off the pace a bit so far this year!
Just ordered our passes today (for Sept '06) from Ticketmania & International postage was free. They also offer the full range of options not just what the UK brokers are offering.
We normally buy before going that way whatever spends we take are exactly that -spending money!!

Thanks Shooby Doo and Saz72 it was Ticketmania that I got them from before - just needed a little reminder. I remember not having to pay any postage and receiving them within 1 week - so I shall get on there and have a look. M&S is also where we get our currency from, no charge if you take in cash (if i remember rightly) - thanks for the tip on not dating the cheques.

Cheers - v excited !!!!
