Us, can you advise, I know perhaps paying direct and not through a dinning plan may work out slightly cheaper but being from the UK I like to know things like tickets, hotel, car and food are sorted before we travel to Disney.

So if I become a DVC member do you get discounts off the dinning plans and if you do how much?

I guess same question about tickets, we normally buy either a two or three week pass as we normally stay for between two to three weeks, will there also be discount on tickets and again how much?

Thanks guys

There are no discounts on the pricing of any Disney Dining Plan for members. Member receive a savings on annual passes.

There's something that's been annoying me about that table. For the renewals, the "savings" column shows how much the renewal saves over a first-time purchase, not how much a DVC renewal saves over a regular renewal.

But as to the OP's question, DVC members can buy a Tables in Wonderland card which might be a better deal for those extended stays than the Dining Plan. Also, be aware that I think you can buy extended tickets from the UK that we do not have access to here in the states, so you'll want to do your own comparisons to the above.

Good luck!

You can get the dining plan or resort discounts sometimes free when they offer it depends on when you like to travel usually it's offered in early September thru late November there are a few blackout dates as far as being a DVC member there are no discounts for the dining plan but you do get several other perks best thing to do is call and talk to the crew at DVC there number is 800-******** hope this helps. The cast members at DVC are very very helpful and there is no pressure to buy but in my opinion it is a great deal

Thanks, any link to where I would find the tables in wonderland deal?

I am looking to buy resell so would I get the same deal?

Trying to weigh up if what we pay here in the UK compared to being a DVC owner and the annual fees ect.

Thank you.

IMO you need to decide if DVC resorts. rooms and amenities make sense for you. Don't even look at other DVC perks like discounts because they are not guaranteed and they change.

Agree you can only take like for like but here in the UK they offer free dinning at present but that's not guaranteed, just trying to get a like to like comparison to what's being offered at the moment.

Thanks.

Since people from the UK get deals that we don't have access to we don't know what that is. It does seem like there are quite a few DVC members who live in the UK, maybe some will chime in to give you some insight.
I see that there are a few UK boards here and this is the DVC one http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=61

DVC members can and do purchase DDP and the basic savings are that you are not required to buy tickets to have it. Plus DVC members are not subject to seasonal rates, unless something has changed. DVC members usually have APs or their 10 day non-expiring tickets and some even visit and not go to any parks. Cash customers are required to have a minimum 2 day ticket.

I do think that the annual pass would be beneficial to you if you stay 2 to 3 weeks.

DVC doesn't ever get free dining or non-DVC resort discounts. Cash discounts are sometimes available through Member Services on DVC resorts but it is something you have to call MS about. You can get free dining with a cash reservation through Disney Reservation Center, but not on points.

I got a discount last month at Caribbean Beach.

You got a discount using your points to book CBR in the Disney collection?

No. I booked just like any other person (Not on DVC website) but there was a DVC discount. You go to special offers page and there is an option to sign in and see if there is a DVC discount.

That's very interesting. Never saw or heard of that before, but it's been about 2 years since I booked a cash reservation and we had an Ap rate.

Darn! I just remembered we did have one night at AoA this year and I don't know if I checked for special offers, it was Easter.

Now that I've totally hijacked the thread, how much of a discount did you get?
