Buying direct after resale?

How soon can you purchase a direct add on after buying resale?
I have heard you must wait until your member id comes in...is this true?
Bought 50 points resale and looking to buy 25 direct as add on. (Hard to find on resale)

I'm not 100% sure about this, but imagine that you would need your membership number first so that they can tag on to it for the new contract (especially since you are not buying the 125 minimum for new owners). I closed in late September on a resale and easily added-on a 25 point direct contract in November. That probably is not the length of time you prefer to wait, but just sharing as an example for you. For these smaller 25 point contracts, I do prefer to get them direct. The cost difference often isn't but a few hundred dollars more and you avoid the ROFR process. I have a September UY and those aren't always the easiest to find anyway. I prefer one UY and buying Direct allows you (most of the time depending on inventory) to buy in your UY. Good luck!

To piggyback off this multiple contract question, is it possible to buy other contracts to get into the 11 month window for more resorts?

For example, let’s say I bought a 140 point contract for SSR, if I added another contract of like 50 points for CCV that had the same use year, would I be able to book both SSR and CCV at the 11 month window and use all 190 points on either one of them?

No, you can only use the points for the home resort at the 11 month window, so in your example; you could use your 50 CCV at the 11 month mark at CCV OR your 140 at SSR but not together as one reservation at either resort. This does make you think about how many different resorts you want to own. At the moment, I own at the Poly and OKW. I will probably buy a small contract at BWV and the rest of my points will either be added at the Poly or OKW for this very reason.

Talk to your guide and they may magically speed up the resale contract transfer per someone else on another thread. Can't say I endorse DVC doing that but it's their show after all.
