Buying cell phone accessories online vs. Verizon?

My DD and I both just got Samsung Intensity phones with my Verizon plan. My DD already dropped hers and it chipped, SO I'm looking to get covers, but I also haven't bought a memory card, headset or most importantly, a car charger yet.

They sell these so cheaply at Amazon.com, but I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to buy them there? Are they the ones they sell at Verizon? Should I just get a bundle at Verizon? Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this. Thanks!

The only reason I buy my accessories from Verizon is becuase my dh gets a 20% discount through work... so the stuff is usually cheaper there than online. That being said I have bought accessories from all different places - Smart Bargains.com, Amazon, and ebay! The only time I ever had a problem was a car charger I bought off ebay for $.01 (yes, a penny) -- I totally got what I paid for... it only worked once LOL!!

Definitely go online (or to places like Walmart or Target) -- the stuff at the phone stores is of the same quality (typically, the only difference is the big carriers stamp their logo on it) -- they just mark it up for quick sales to that "impulse buyer" who just signed a 2-year contract.

Just bought accessories off of amazon.com for my verizon phone. The set included a car charger, regular charger and cover. For the grand price of 2.94 and 3.49 shipping! Have used the chargers and cover fits great. Can't go wrong with that price. It was from an amazon marketplace seller.

I have bought both phone covers and car chargers from Amazon for much much less than Verizon, even after adding in shipping. Everything came quickly and works just fine.

I just ordered covers and screen protectors, but didn't get the .02 car charger since that one didn't have good reviews. I'll find a different site or a different seller. Thanks for the input!

DH & I buy our Motorola cell accessories on eBay. We've gotten car chargers for @ $2-3 and extra batteries for @ $5 and they work great.

My Mom and DD have that phone. We bought cases for the Samsung Intensity on Ebay for less than $5 (and at a kiosk at the mall, but those were more in the $10-12 range). For the memory card, we bought it at BJs because it was less expensive there. We've had good luck with generic car chargers from Wal-Mart for that phone.
