Buying books for Nook

I have had my Nook for about 6 months. Whenever I buy books from Barnes and Noble they show up instantly onto my Nook. Earlier today I ordered 2 books. I just went to start a book and it wasn't on my Nook. When I check my account it says item being electronically delivered. Do you think it is because of heavy traffic on their website? I am on hold with B&N now. Just wondering if anyone else was having a problem. Thanks.

i've had trouble with the b&n website since yesterday morning. i think it's just heavy traffic, but i don't blame you, i'd call too.

I just got through to customer service and just what I thought because of the heavy website traffic it is taking at least 24 hours for the book to download. I guess I won't be reading tonight.

I bought my dad a Nook for Christmas. He downloaded a book yesterday but it won't open. He says he can see the book cover in his library, but when he tries to open it out he gets kicked back out.

I have had this happen in the past - exact same thing, the cover shows up but the book won't open and it won't download onto the Nook if you select download in the menu that pops when you double tap on the book cover. It's a rare but funky thing that happens with some books with no rhyme or reason as to why it happens. (It's happened to me twice out of over 250 books purchased).

Tell your dad to go onto their website and log into his account. He should then go to the section marked my Library, there he can find the book and click download to save the book onto his computer. Then connect the Nook to his computer using the USB cable and sideload the book onto his Nook into the B&N books directory. It should then open fine.

I was on hold tonight for 80+ minutes with B&N. (Thank God for speakerphones!) They are having website/computer issues. Maintenance is working to correct all problems. I was having issues of B&N charging my credit card & not the gift card I set up for my DD account. Hope they get it together soon!
