Buying annual pass....

We are going on our first ever trip to Universal Dec 19-22. We are getting preferred annual pass with the 6 months free. Is there any advantage to buying now or waiting until we got into December?

No advantage. Do you know how long they will offer the 6 months free? I bought mine because I'm in the 'sooner the better' camp.

Not sure about when it ends but i read somewhere your payments start right when you buy not when you activate or something like that.

Yes, when you purchase on the flex pay system that is how it works.

For the 6 month free deal, the Universal site says "Purchase and activate by April 4, 2019", so it sounds like we have some time.

Our APs expire the last week of December. If we renew, does the new pass start as soon as the old one ends, or does it start when we 'activate' the new one?

Renewals start right after the old one ends.
