I am going to the World in a couple of weeks with my wife to run Dark Side. We are also celebrating our 30th a couple of months early. I noticed Dark Side next year is in early April so I'm thinking about an AP for the first time. We have a package deal and was told my my day ticket (no hopper) would reduce my AP price to about 490. We are there Thursday thru Monday. What day is best to but ticket and activate it Sunday or Monday. Thanks

The AP’s year will start the first day you use the original ticket, so it doesn’t matter when you upgrade, as long as you upgrade before close of business on the last day that original ticket is valid.

ETA if you upgrade before you use the original ticket, the AP year will start the day you first use the AP to enter a park. So again it doesn’t matter when you upgrade.

Your AP will be dated back to your first day your actual ticket was used to enter your first park. So, upgrade on Thursday to obtain all the AP perks.
