I'm thinking that maybe this year I will buy a trampoline. We have DS (8), DS (5) and DD (2). I did a quick search at Walmart.com and was surprised at how much they were. I was thinking $150, but more like $280! Is this price pretty much the standard?

I'm not sure, but saw on the couponing to disney site there was some discounted one.

That sounds cheap to me- don't forget to look into how much your insurance will go up for getting one.
(we don't have one but there is a thread on the community board about people being dropped by their insurance companies for having a trampoline)

I was wrong, it was on mommysavers. Sears deal of the day is a trampoline with enclosure for 189.99. today only.

If you have an Academy nearby, they have them that start at $150 without an enclosure.

Try sams club. We just bought a new one last week it was under 200 and 70 for the enclosure! It replaced a much used one from Walmart that was 4 years old. I must say the new one is better built!

I have heard of some insurance issues before so I think I will double check. Thank you!

Someone I know has a friend who's insurance company saw a trampoline on their property on an aerial photo. They were told to get rid of the trampoline or they would be dropped from coverage. Talk about big brother watching you!

Looks like it was already mentioned, but yes check with your insurance. I know ours will drop you if you have one. My parents insurance is the same way (different companies). Not only is there a huge human liability with injuries, but there is also a huge liability for personal property. The trampolines are known for going flying during high wind storms. I have personally witnessed 2 different trampolines go flying on 2 different occasions. One was lifted up, went over a 2 story house, and across the street before it landed on a tree. Chopped the tops of two trees off, but luckily that was the only damage. The second one I saw (different trampoline, different neighborhood) scooted across the grass and hit the neighbors house. That one put a good sized dent in the side of the house, causing quite a bit of damage.

We just got DD a trampoline this week. I got it for a total of $268 at Walmart and did the FREE site to store shipping. DH picked it up on Friday night. Easy peesy. I did call my insurance company first to be sure it would be covered under our home policy and it is. We carry high coverage of the "extra" stuff under our home anyway so we were good to go on that.

It's a 12 ft. tramp w/the enclosure

Just be sure to set ground rules with the kids. We allow only 2 kids at a time and they have to take turns. So far, it's working out well.

Good luck!

PLEASE consider your purchase carefully.
The safety mesh/net is Really needed, so be sure that is included.
The steps UP to the trampoline is also important for safety.
Whats on the ground around/under it is also "supposed" to be considered.

The safety issues of these are Vital....meaning despite what people do/allow multiple kids on a trampoline bouncing and flipping means possibility of Multiple broken limbs and possible permanent injuries, unfortunately, its a fact that many don't like to think about..(from a claim perspective, Nightmare!) ...Kids are growing and their joints are also growing, the combo of injury to those areas can be quite serious.
So, again, just be prepared to be "watching" them and everyone elses kids...its a big draw :lmao: and having it properly installed/maintained is important to your insurance carrier...which by the way, "some" increase their premiums for people that have one (if they get wind of it ;) )
:wizard:

If you can wait for black friday Wal-mart usually has them on sale. I got one last year for 170 enclosure and all.

We have had one for years and it is now falling apart. So we've been looking for another. We got ours for $150 at Walmart. Now I can't find one nearly the same size for under $200. It's really frustrating
