Buying a ticket for someone who does not have My Disney Experience

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I don't quite know how to go about buying a theme park ticket for someone who doesn't have a Disney account or MDE (although, maybe Disney is the one that should be embarrassed by making things so complicated). My family will be in the parks for 5 days and we would like to treat a family member who lives in the area to a day at the park. She is older and not familiar with the MDE app (or any app for that matter). Can we buy her a one-day park ticket, make a reservation for her, and then just give her the park ticket when we get to Florida? Or do we need to create a Disney account for her and teach her MDE?

When you go to buy the ticket, you'll be asked who it's for, and you'll basically create her as a managed profile under your profile.

You can buy a ticket and assign it to a friend, which is someone with an MDE who friends you. You can also control this relative, like a child, if that's easier than getting them to get their own MDE.

So, either set them up in MDE or control them. I'd probably create them and MDE and control it myself.
